Ana of California
by Andi Teran
Ana has just had her last chance at a foster family. She is almost 16 and could either go to a group home (which no one wants) or possibly be emancipated if she plays her cards right. She gets placed with a family organic farm in Northern California.
Ana has never been out of the city. She has no clue as to the difference between herbs and weeds. She has never seen the country before and is amazed by it all.
Ana will have to prove herself to the brother and sister who own this farm if she wants to stay out of the group home, but she will tell you herself, she’s not good at keeping quiet, nor at keeping her opinions to herself. But here she will get the chance to make her first real friend and, maybe even, have a boyfriend.
This is a modern retelling of Anne of Green Gables. Good for young YA.
