Wringer keeps you twisting

by Jerry Spinelli

Palmer is not like most of the boys in his town. He can wait to get older.  He dreads it in fact. Although as he gets older, he finds him hanging out with the boys he always hoped would be his friends. If that means leaving his old friend Dorothy behind, so be it.

But when an unexpected visitor surprises him outside his bedroom window, he finds himself searching deep within in himself for bravery he didn’t think he had.

This one is for the middle grade reader. It is tough for those who are animal lovers. I know I dreaded picking it up at times because I didn’t know which choice Palmer would choose.
