Skip Wild Women of the Wild West unless you like myths, lies, and exaggerations

Wild Women of the Wild West

Half truths, exaggerations, and lies – that’s what this book is made up of.  I would have labeled this historical fiction.  Historical because it has used real names , and fiction because of the myths perpetuated by this book.  I was really disappointed. The only redeeming part of it is the art.  That is worthwhile.

There are so many interesting stories on women in the Wild West. Why would someone choose to add to the lies surrounding some of these women? I know that because this book is for children, you would have to gloss over some of their backgrounds, but otherwise stick to the facts.  I will stop before the rant goes on….
