Life During the Renaissance

A kid will probably not pick this up as a fun read, but it has great information. It is the type of book you turn to when you have a paper due.
It give the reader a feel for the time. It explains what is happening intellectually, socially, and religiously. These three areas saw major changes at this time, and the book does a good job of pointing that out. It also stresses that for the majority of the people, the changes weren’t that great.
The thing that doesn’t seem to work is the direct quotes from other sources – not really for the kids.
